Privacy
What we collect, and what we don’t.
Short version: an email address if you give us one, and anonymous numbers if you use a calculator. No tracking, no cookies, no advertising pixels, and nothing sold to anyone.
What we don’t do
This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics script, no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no session recording, and no advertising tags. We do not build profiles of readers, and we do not sell, rent or share personal information with anyone for their own use.
We are not doing this to be virtuous. A publication that writes about ad tracking should be able to say plainly what it does itself.
If you subscribe
We collect your email address, the role you select, and which page you came from. That goes to Beehiiv, which sends the newsletter on our behalf, and a copy is kept in our own database so the list survives losing that account.
We use it to send you the newsletter. Nothing else. Every issue carries an unsubscribe link, it works immediately, and we do not ask why.
If you use a calculator
Calculators do not ask for an email and do not require one. When you run one, we store the figures you entered: portfolio size, annual marketing spend, region, asset class, and the optional channel splits.
We do not store any identifier alongside them. There is deliberately no company field on the form. Your submission is not linked to your email even if you subscribe on the same visit, and it is not linked to an IP address, a session, or a browser.
Those figures are aggregated into the published benchmark. No segment is published until at least five operators have submitted to it, so no single company’s spend can be read back out of a benchmark. If a segment has four operators in it, the site says so and shows no number.
If you download a gated resource
Reports and decks ask for an email address so we can send them. We keep which resource you asked for, so we do not send it twice. If you are not already a subscriber, asking for a resource does not subscribe you.
Who else touches your data
- Beehiiv sends the newsletter and holds the subscriber list.
- Supabase hosts our database, in the United States.
- Railway hosts this website.
Each of them processes data on our instructions and under their own terms. Nobody else receives it.
How long we keep things
Subscriber records last until you unsubscribe, after which we remove the address from our copy at the next sync. Calculator submissions are kept indefinitely because the benchmark is built from history, but since they carry no identifier there is nothing in them to attach to you.
Your choices
Unsubscribe from any issue. To ask what we hold about you, or to have it deleted, email privacy@multifamilymarketing.io and we will do it. If you are in California, the EU or the UK, you have specific statutory rights to access, correction and deletion; the same address is how you exercise them.
One limit worth stating honestly: we cannot delete a calculator submission on request, because we have no way to tell which one was yours. That is a direct consequence of not storing an identifier with it.
