Your Business Profile Is Now Your Top Leasing Agent
Google and Uberall spelled out how to stay visible as AI Mode takes over local search: keep your Business Profile accurate, publish content that actually answers what people ask, respond to reviews, and measure performance by location, not by portfolio average.
None of that sounds urgent until you remember what AI Mode does with it. It doesn't send a searcher to ten blue links to make up their own mind. It reads your profile, your reviews, and your site copy, then tells the prospect what your community is like before they've clicked anything. If your hours are wrong, your amenities list is three renovations out of date, or nobody's answered a review since spring, the AI isn't being unfair to you. It's summarizing exactly what you gave it.
Your Business Profile isn't a directory listing anymore. It's the pitch AI reads out loud before a prospect ever sees your website.
The location-level measurement part is the one most portfolios will skip, and it's the one that matters most. If you're only looking at leads and conversion at the portfolio level, you can't tell whether Property A's reviews are dragging its AI visibility down while Property B coasts on a strong profile. That's not a reporting nicety, that's the difference between fixing the right building and guessing.
Treat this like lead-gen infrastructure, not SEO cleanup you'll get to next quarter. Assign someone to own profile accuracy and review response cadence on a real schedule, and ask your reporting to break out by location before you ask it for anything else.
