Google Just Made Your Ads Agency Reinstall a Tool You've Never Heard Of
Google's Google Ads API assistant just jumped to v4.0. This one isn't a "update when you feel like it" situation.
PPC Land reports the plugin got rebuilt to run on Antigravity and Claude Code, picked up ten slash commands across five languages, and now does local validation that's supposed to save up to four rounds of arguing with an LLM before it works. Nice, in theory. But here's the catch: if you already had it installed, you have to reinstall it from scratch or it just stops working.
You've probably never opened this tool. Your agency has, or your in-house PPC person has, if they're using it to manage, script, or automate any piece of your Google Ads leasing campaigns. That's the whole reason to care. A forced reinstall on backend tooling is exactly the kind of thing that quietly breaks bid adjustments, reporting pulls, or campaign scripts, and nobody mentions it until a pacing report looks wrong or lead volume dips and everyone's stumped.
This isn't about your ads looking different or costing more.
It's about the plumbing under your account getting swapped out on somebody else's schedule, by a vendor who might not even touch this specific tool. The update itself isn't the risk.
The risk is finding out three weeks from now, in the middle of a slow-lead week, that this was the reason all along, and nobody flagged it.
